The winner of Keep Greene Beautiful’s “Yard of the Month” for August was Susan Platt, of Valleydale Road, in Mosheim.

For her winning residential landscape, Bible was presented a $50 gift card from Broyles General Store.

August was the final month for nominations for the award, officials say in a news release. The monthly, county-wide contest will begin again in May, 2023, they add.

“During the Yard of the Month program, no yard will be allowed to receive more than one award within the calendar year,” the release continues. “The residential property of all current Greene County residents are eligible to participate.”

The winning yards can be maintained by either the property owner or a professional landscaper, officials add.

Winners of the honor are asked to display their award sign in their yard during the month. They are additionally expected to maintain their yard in the same manner that allowed them to win their title of ‘Yard of the Month,’” the release adds.
